Tips on how to keep your fridge clean and food safe
Use paper towels for your fruit and veggies, that soak up any juices, and keep your produce fresh longer.
2) No plates
Do not use plates. Keep your food in storage containers and it will prevent spills in a fridge.
The temperature of the door area changes a lot because of it opening and closing, so it is not a good location for eggs, meats, milk or other items that are easily perishable, according to the USDA. Store these items on the inner shelves of the fridge to keep them fresher.
Bottom shelves stay cooler than the top shelf, so your milk will last longer if you move it to a bottom shelf.
5) Get rid of leftovers
Clean your leftovers regularly to keep your fridge organized. The USDA recommends throwing out your leftovers after 4 days to prevent illness.
